As mobile technology grows rapidly, human-computer interaction is much more important than ever. Therefore, when we design an application or product, we must to consider interaction design and user experience. We had 2 projects in this course. One was to test usability of real product, and another was to develop a prototype by user-centered design.

Usability Test for TripAdvisor

usability test for TripAdvisor

In this project, we tested usability of famous website for traveler, trip-advisor. There were 4 subjects who required performing 7 tasks and taking a post-event survey with 7-point scales. To quantify the usability, we also recorded elapsed time of each task by users. Based on the result of usability test, we found some confusing design and suggested how to improve.

Here, our goal was to develop novel product for education. Based on our contextual inquiry (3 teachers: 1 at elementary school, 2 at junior high school) and affinity diagram, we created 2 personas and analyzed tasks. After conceptual design process, we made a storyboard and showed the story in video prototype.
